Kathy Nixon says it has been so exciting to be part of IVMS' growth and students' progress. During her five years as an educator here, she has taught language arts, Latin, humanities, creativity seminar, research skills, and reading specials. Kathy has earned an A.B. in Latin and English and a masters of library science from Indiana University. Currently she holds teaching certificates in Florida and Indiana and has taught K-12 in both states. As of August 2010, she has completed three of the five classes for an ESOL endorsement and four of the five competencies for a reading endorsement. In her free time, she participates in local writers' groups, bicycles, walks on the beach, and enjoys life in Florida with her husband Randy. |
