Judy's Notes

October 7, 2008

Dear Friends,

We have new awnings around our new K/1 complex and they are beautiful. Our youngest students are benefiting from the extra shade on their classrooms. There are so many additions to our campus this year that are improving the children's experience of school each day.

Our newest arrivals, the kindergartners, have spent the first few months adjusting to school and all its rules and schedules; the classroom rhythm, and how best to get along with those whom you spend your days. Some took longer than others, but all are benefiting from their new learning environments and seem excited to arrive each day. The returning Montessori students went to work a bit quicker and quieter than those who are new to this unique learning environment. It never ceases to amaze me when I see 25 children in one room working quietly and diligently together.

In honor of our beloved friend and educator, Leanne, we will be creating loving and sunny things to give to her. We will have a school dinner in her honor and invite you all to attend. Times like these knit us together to face the storms that inevitably come our way. We will teach our children that how we treat others is how we, ultimately, will be treated.

Love to you all,

Ms. Judy
